He(Kalem) was matched with Chad from Wenatchee who is an excellent grappler with some very good stand up skills. It was a great match, Kalem took some heavy right hands but fought through it, maintaining his composure. Kalem showed depth in the fight even when matched with someone with 5 times more stand up experience, he adjusted his game and engineered a win. He said after the match, "I am tired in a way I have never felt before", he dug deep and showed his character. Kalem represented The Little Dojo and Premier Martial Arts. — Steve Smith

Well, Adam finally made it to our national newspaper, The Star. It's a long overdue recognition to this great fighter and coach who made many phenomenal successes in the martial arts arena without any sponsorship or government funding.
It's awesome to have him around the gym before he embarks on another professional tour again, whether to fight in Thailand, Australia, Brazil, US or Japan. His mere presence alone instill so much motivation in the gym that all those present will automatically train harder and fight better. Of course, yours truly here bruise and ache more when he's around... (I'm getting too old for these strenuous workouts).
Still, I have to thank Adam for all the wonderful stuffs that he taught us and for being a great motivator and friend.
This is great for the UFC for greater visibility and sponsorships, but will it be “GREAT” for Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) over all.
Boxing was/is still a great sport that HBO helped build, but do we want a “Don King” of MMA? Maybe “Dana White” is the next Don King. Is that bad or Good for the sport?
The Ultimate Fighting Championships has signed a deal with premium cable network HBO, UFC president Dana White said this week. The UFC is the world’s largest and most successful mixed martial arts promotion, and HBO has run a successful boxing promotion for more than a decade.
“We will have a show on HBO this summer,” White said. “It has been a long, hard process, but I think HBO and the UFC are comfortable where we are at.”
White said long-time HBO boxing announcers Jim Lampley and Larry Merchant would not announce UFC events, but that HBO would handle the production. White did not disclose the terms of the deal and indicated the details may not be finalized. He did say the UFC plans to keep its presence on Spike TV and pay-per-view.
Learned a basic Muay Thai clinch last week from Adam. The clinch is one of the skill I've yet to learn or experience. Although we did a bit of clinching during our Karate randori sparring and nage-waza (throwing or takedowns) training, it was quite different from the Thai clinch.
Adam taught that the clinch can be used to:
1. Disable your opponent momentarily so that you can rest awhile.
2. Unbalance your opponent to slip in your power shots.
3. Gain a position of advantage where you can hit him more.
4. Safely disengage to a good position while slipping in a few parting shots.
I found the clinch to be useful when I sparred with Laurent. I was exhausted and I used the clinch to catch a breather while minimizing his shots to him. Cool! Going to train more on this area.
I have sympathy for the driver of the car(Harris) who is now a quadriplegic as a result of the accident, but at any time he could have stopped before that. — Supreme Court weighs police action in 100 mph chase
The police video shows Harris speeding more than 100 miles an hour, leading officers across two counties. At times he crosses the double yellow line on the road to pass about 36 cars.
At one point, Harris pulls into a shopping center parking lot, with Scott and two deputies trying to block him. Harris then hits Scott’s vehicle while fleeing. The officer radios his supervisor requesting permission to use potentially deadly force to stop Harris.
“Let me have him, my car’s already tore up,” he says on the tape.
“Go ahead and take him out,” orders the supervisor.
I am perplexed, angered, pissed off and just astonished at peoples lack of responsibility today. Everything bad is a result of someone else’s fault. This story above is lucky that it wasn’t more people injured, but if you let “Speeding Cars” go, then everyone will start running from the police because they will stop chasing if you go fast. Why don’t they just start shooting at the speeding vehicle as soon as they look like they are trying to get away. Then others will hear about it and not want to risk being shot at. (OK that was just in jest, but it is still partially true).
If I as a parent don’t go and get my kid who is running around making trouble, will they stop before breaking something or hurting themselves or someone else? Most likely NO. If they run from me should I just stop and let them go, because I might make it worse? NO. These people that are running from the police, should have been spanked more as a child and taught to respect the laws and officers of our land. They should be responsible for their actions even if their parents didn’t spank them when they should have, they still made the choice and can live with the consequences of their actions.
