 Balintawak (or Balintawak Eskrima) is a style of Filipino martial art developed by the late Venancio "Anciong" Bacon in the 1950's from earlier Filipino styles such as Doce Pares. It is named for Cebu's Balintawak Self Defense Club (taking its name from its location on a street named Balintawak Street), where it was originally taught. The Club was in the back of a watch repair shop on Balintawak Street.

Sambo is an original Russian martial art which has its roots from Judo, but Judo technique was modified significantly by various ethnic wrestlings which existed in the Former Soviet Union. Anyway you can read about Sambo here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sambo_(martial_art. I just say that current PrideFC hevyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko has Sambo background. His record is 23:1. He will fight Mark Coleman on Oct 21st.SOOO...here you see..yes yes Fedor Emelianenko (Russia) vs Ciglarj Vatslav (Czech). Fedor won...obviously. Czech guy could have some chances to beat fedor in chess game but not in Sambo fight.
